Does Gonzaga accept dual enrollment and/or Running Start Credit?

Yes. Review Gonzaga's Transfer Agreements & Transfer Credit Policies to learn more.

To receive college credit for Running Start and Dual Enrollment courses, please arrange to have an official transcript from the institution awarding credit forwarded to the Office of Admission. This can be done after you have confirmed enrollment. Although we will accept most courses taken at other regionally accredited institutions, credit transfer evaluations are done on a course-by-course basis. Review our Transfer Credit Database* to learn how credits transfer from other colleges/universities.

*The equivalencies contained within the database serve as a guide to understanding how transfer credit may be accepted from other regionally accredited institutions. This database is ever-changing and course equivalencies listed in the guide are subject to change without notice. Students are encouraged to verify transfer equivalencies with the Office of Admission in advance.

When do I declare a major? What if I don't know exactly what I want to do?

Many Gonzaga students are not sure about their major field of study when they enter, and others change their minds—especially in their first year. We welcome explorers and have counseling to help students discover a career path. Students normally have until the end of their sophomore year to declare a major. Many students change majors after they are enrolled. Some fields (like nursing, engineering, and education) are less flexible than others.

*Our engineering or nursing programs are direct-entry programs, so students interested in those fields must declare the major on their application to be considered for that program.

Does Gonzaga have core curriculum requirements for all students?

Yes. All students, regardless of their major, must complete the University Core Curriculum. Students may spread out the Core over their four years at Gonzaga, but most take both English classes, speech and their first philosophy class during the first year.
