Major Brent Vance - Engineer

MAJ Brent Vance is from Kennewick, WA and is a graduate of Brigham Young University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management. He then went on to graduate from Missouri University of Science and Technology with a Masters in Engineering Management. MAJ Vance enlisted in 2003 and commissioned in 2008 and his military education includes Engineer Basic Officer Leader Course, Commander/First Sergeant Course, and Command and General Staff Officer Course.

MAJ Vance’s assignments include Platoon Leader then Executive Officer - 93rd EN CO at Fort Johnson, LA (formally known as Fort Polk) with a deployment to Ramadi, Iraq - Vertical/Horizontal Operations in 2008. Following that assignment, MAJ Vance went on to become the Battalion Plans Officer - 46th EN BN Fort Johnson, LA, Chief of the Department of Instruction Engineer BOLC at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, Installation Engineer - G3 Fort Johnson, LA, Small Capital Manager and Contracting Specialist (Walla Walla, WA, with a deployment to Puerto Rico - Task Force Power Restoration, Basic Combat Training Company Commander - C IN CO, 2-13th IN BN at Fort Jackson, SC, and Foreign Military Sales - USMTM in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Some of his awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (two oak leaf clusters), Army Commendation Medal (four oak leaf clusters), the Army Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Iraqi Campaign Medal - Combat, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medals, and the Steel de Fleury Medal.

MAJ Vance married Candace Harshberger in 1997 and they have four children and four grandchildren.
